New Zealand Post is targeting new revenue opportunities by providing identity data collection and verification services utilizing solutions from Daon, a leading provider of biometric identity assurance software and services.

Phase one of the project launched in August 2011 and is being closely monitored by the company. New Zealand Post’s next step is to install a high quality photo-capture system in approximately 150 of its 280 Postshop-Kiwibank branches by early 2012. New Zealand Post expects to provide identity services for multiple public and private sector clients.

Innovative security platform honored by TechAmerica Foundation

Reston, Va. – Daon has been named the winner in the Cyber Security & Authentication category for the American Technology Awards, which bestows the only “Best Of” awards that recognize all technology products and services for the technology industry. The award was attributed to IdentityX, the mobile authentication solution that significantly decreases the risk of unauthorized transactions, protecting businesses and consumers against on-line fraud and hacking.

Daon, a global provider of identity assurance software and services, announced that Daon Trusted Identity Services (DTIS) has been awarded a contract with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide fingerprinting and FBI background checking services for the estimated one million people that prepare and/or assist in the preparation of federal tax returns.
