DaonCMS is an Smart Card Management System that enables the production of personalized smart cards, containing the card holders’ identity information (including biometrics), and supports their management throughout their lifetime. DaonCMS can be deployed either with other Daon products within Daon’s Identity Assurance platform (to handle identity enrollment, identity management, background checking, biometric matching, and user access management) or alternatively with equivalent 3rd party software systems.

With DaonCMS your organization can quickly, cheaply, and flexibly produce personalized secure smart card credentials. Built on the proven scalable technology of Daon's Identity Assurance platform, the system is designed to deliver the highest levels of availability, scalability and throughput. Its open architecture allows for ease of integration with a wide variety of 3rd party systems and components, such as Identity Management Systems, Certificate Authorities, Cryptographic Modules and Card Production Systems.

DaonCMS uses a separate Identity Management System (IDMS) to manage its identity information. This removes the need and complexity of creating and maintaining a separate identity silo specifically for the SCMS. You can choose to use the simple and intuitive portlet-based user interface for issuing new cards and administering existing cards or the DaonCMS card issuance and management functions can be integrated into an existing 3rd party application to provide a seamless look and feel to an entire credential-based system.

The system can issue cards to support multiple card schemes, including but not restricted to PIV, PIV Interoperable (PIV-I), PIV compatible (PIV-C) and ICAO-BAC compatible cards. DaonCMS is FIPS 201 certified by the General Services Administration (GSA) and is listed on the FIPS 201 Approved Products List (APL).
