DTIS to conduct criminal background checks on care providers, foster parents, and employees.
Reston, Virginia, April 13, 2010 – Daon Trusted Identity Services (DTIS), a division of Daon, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) to conduct criminal background checks on DHR licensed childcare and adult care providers, as well as adoptive parents, foster parents and certain DHR employees.
Prior to implementing the new system, it was often taking months to process results on criminal history record checks using a manual submission system in place. With the support of the Department of Public Safety, DHR worked with DTIS to implement a system that reduces processing time by utilizing livescan technology to transmit fingerprints electronically. Under the new contract, DTIS will manage the automated electronic criminal history check system, and provide training and support. The result is a more efficient operation and faster background checks.
Daon Trusted Identity Services has extensive experience in this area as it has conducted more than 5 million civilian airport worker criminal background checks.
