Working on behalf of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) since 2005, our software and expertise has been used to deliver and operate a range of biometrics and identity solutions.  These have been installed at the Canberra Head Office and other on-shore and off-shore Australian government facilities.Working with Unisys Pty as systems integrator on the current Biometrics Framework, Daon’s software supports a range of collection, authentication, and identification processes for a variety of immigration enforcement and border management applications covering;

  • Refugee and Asylum Seeker Processing
  • Citizenship Application Processing 
  • Illegal Foreign Fisherman Processing

The DIAC strategy of operating a consolidated biometric identity solution for multiple business missions has been achieved using DaonEngine as the central multi-modal biometric identity infrastructure. Client facing applications are based on DaonEnroll and are deployed in a wide network of collection and processing application points. The system currently manages over 1 Million identities and is capable of supporting over 20,000 transactions per day including 1:1 verifications, 1:n identifications and new enrollments.
