
Daon technology platform support authentication of Japanese e-Passport holders, foreign travelers and registered travelers entering and exiting the country.
In November 2007, Daon, working with Prime Contractor NEC, deployed into operation a national multi-biometric border management system across 34 Airports and Seaports in Japan. The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Automatic Border Clearance and Registered Traveler / e-Gate Programs were built on a common Daon technology platform to support authentication of foreign travelers and Japanese registered travelers entering and exiting the country. Daon provided an end-to-end off-the-shelf software solution that integrated e-Gates, capture devices, cameras, NEC Facial Recognition and NEC AFIS systems.
