Daon Wins the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Emerging Company Award
|
Washington DC, September 21, 2005 - Frost & Sullivan’s recent
analysis selected Daon as the recipient of the 2005 Emerging Company
Award for its leadership status, high quality products and services
and technology expertise in the identity assurance industry. Each
year this Award is given to a company that has a unique and revolutionary
product solution with significant market potential. Additionally
the Award certifies that a company’s marketing strategy is sound
and poised for success.
"Daon owes its success to its unique identity assurance technology and sustained key project wins in the expanding North American biometrics market while creating strong positions in other regions around the world where emerging identity programs are expected to drive similar market growth" says Frost and Sullivan Industry Analyst Sapna Capoor. “In addition, continuous development of its marketing channels and commitment to the growth of the biometric industry at large has placed the company in a strong position for the future. Frost & Sullivan finds Daon to be a very worthy recipient that meets our stringent requirements for this award."
"We are honored to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan for such a prestigious award. An Award like this one demonstrates the value of our offering to governments and commercial organizations globally and shows our existing customers that they have made the right decision in choosing Daon”, says Tom Grissen, CEO, Daon.
Daon has retained its pole position in the identity assurance marketplace by its participation in numerous high profile identity management programs including the following:
Unisys was awarded the Registered Traveler program by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in 2004. Daon, as a primary sub-contractor, was selected to provide the core identity management software and identity assurance expertise to the team. In a separate registered traveler program Daon has provided its support to the Verified Identity Pass, Inc. (VIP) and Lockheed Martin team in an initial deployment to Orlando airport. These represent the first large-scale introductions of biometric technology to the U.S. traveling public.
Daon has also been selected to provide the core biometric identity assurance software to support the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) in operational biometric trials in the areas of Immigration and Border Management. The trial is scheduled for completion in April 2006 and will inform a broader joint initiative to develop an integrated approach for the use of biometrics technology for immigration and border management.
As this critical identity assurance marketplace emerges, Daon continues to play a pivotal role in its commitment to the biometrics industry through its work in standards efforts both in the Americas and in Europe and also in establishing and chairing the European Biometrics Forum in 2003.
