Daon Announces Liberty Alliance Project Membership

Daon to Contribute to the Universal Standardization of Authentication Solutions

New York, NY, September 25, 2002 - Daon, a provider of security and accountability software systems, today announced its membership of the Liberty Alliance Project, a business and technology consortium formed to develop open standards for federated network identity.

Daon's membership of the Liberty Alliance Project demonstrates a commitment to providing an enterprise security infrastructure while protecting the privacy of an organization's core audiences, specifically vendors, employees, customers and partners. This membership will enable Daon to contribute to the universal standardization of authentication solutions.

"We are excited to announce Daon's participation in the Liberty Alliance Project," said Oliver Tattan, CEO of Daon. "Daon's experience with legislative and regulatory issues allows us to contribute valuable insight as progress is made toward the development of an industry-wide interoperable standard."

In addition to its work with the Liberty Alliance Project, Daon also chairs the European Biometric Forum, an EU-sponsored organization created to develop a roadmap for the European biometrics industry over the period 2003-2010, and to develop a blueprint for an EU-wide forum for biometrics.

Daon's unique approach to enterprise security via a Biometric Trust Infrastructure delivers a robust platform that serves the full identity management lifecycle. The company's core philosophy, protecting the privacy of the individual while maintaining a high level of security, supports the Liberty Alliance's goal to enable a global network through which businesses can easily conduct private and secure transactions.

Daon's identity management solutions provide organizations in the financial services, government, pharmaceutical, and transportation industries with the technology needed to address both the infrastructure and end-user aspects of an integrated security solution, using biometrics as the validation platform. Daon's infrastructure technology, the DaonEngine, is designed to manage multiple security pain points, including fraud control, compliance, employee accountability and enterprise risk reduction, and addresses the critical need to establish a flexible and robust solution customizable for all of these sectors.
