IBM Implements Daon’s Biometric Access Control System To Enhance Security in their Business Recovery Service Center

Biometric Deployment Addresses Critical Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Service Needs

Dublin, Ireland, June 24th, 2003 - Daon, a leading provider of biometric identity management solutions, today announced that IBM Ireland is implementing its physical and logical access control solution at its Business Recovery Service Centre in Mulhuddart, Dublin. This deployment is indicative of IBM’s commitment to provide enhanced security for its customers at their service centers worldwide.

Restricting access to secure areas is a continuing challenge for IBM’s Business Continuity and Recovery Services Group, as it is for most organizations. DaonEnter, a highly secure access control system which is designed to protect access to secure areas, is addressing IBM’s need to properly and cost-effectively secure and manage physical access systems, while simultaneously limiting access to property, people and information to authorized personnel only.

Secure biometric authentication enables users to securely login to systems such as Microsoft Windows with a physical characteristic such as their finger. Daon for Windows® is also helping IBM to eliminate the security risks associated with passwords, as well as costly password management overhead.
